Looks cute. That’s about it though….cute. Looks like another baby comedy, nothing horribly special.
Wrong! It wasn’t just cute, it was ADORABLE. Jesse Bradford has been melting my heart since Bring it On, I don’t know about you guys, so it was equally as adorable to see him with a baby nearly as cute as him. Although there was some predictable humor and dialogue in the pilot episode, I think this show is going to be different than other baby dramas we have seen.
NBC has really been exploring different outlets of comedy this season. With the groundbreaking The New Normal, we see a surrogate/homosexual couple relationship and in this show we are exploring the against the grain stay at home dad/dad demographic. I think this is a good thing because families are definitely not black and white like they used to be years ago, and NBC is really doing a good job to convey that to its audience.
The mix between humor and touching moments is really splendidly done in this show. I loved the “Titanic” scene and the bathroom scene between Anthony Anderson’s character and his wife. “WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN THERE?!” Hahahaha.
Another notable line “You need to chill out, Kareem Abdul Jabbar.”
I am very pleased with this show. 4/5 stars!
