My thoughts on the new shows of 2013-2014

The CW

Overall, I was much more impressed with the choices The CW made this year as far as pilots than I was with last year’s choices.

The Originals

Excitement level: 4/5

While I think this will do very well due to The Vampire Diaries’ success, I think the concept on it’s own is very interesting.  I like that Hayley is pregnant with Klaus’ baby.  I mean who saw that coming ever? Not me.

The Tomorrow People

Excitement Level: 3/5

I was surprised The CW  picked this one up.  I thought for sure they would have went for The Selection over this one.  I am not entirely sure if I think this one will succeed or not, but the concept is interesting yet overplayed.  We’ll see.

Reign

Excitement Level: 5/5

I LOVE THIS IDEA.  Judging from the title card, we see there will be a steamy romance triangle (which is what every good CW show needs).  I hope this doesn’t suck because I am truly over the moon for this one.

Star Crossed

Excitement Level: 5/5

I AM SO DISAPPOINTED THAT THE CW CHOSE TO HAVE THIS PREMIERE MIDSEASON.  NO NO NO NO NO. I want it now.  But Matt Lanter, honey, you need to stop playing high school students at age 30.  Love you, boo.

The 100

Excitement Level: 3/5

This one could go either way as well.  I think it was a good decision for midseason.  We’ll see how it goes.

CBS

Definitely some typical CBS pilot doozies here.  Maybe a few bright stars.  The ratings always surprise me for CBS.

We are Men

Excitement Level: 1.5/5

Unless this show has an amazing script, I will probably be out once the pilot airs.

Mom

Excitement Level: 2.5/5

As excited as I am to see Anna Faris grace the small screen with her hilarity, I think the actress outshines the show on this one.  I give it a full season pick up but a cancellation in the spring next year.

The Millers

Excitement Level: 3/5

Funny concept.  Funny actors.  May not work.

The Crazy Ones

Excitement Level: 3.5/5

AMAZING CAST.  I just, again, feel like the cast overshadows the actual story.

ABC

I’m always good with the choices ABC make.

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D

Excitement Level: 4.5/5

YES. YES. 1000 TIMES YES.  My only qualm would be if they are recasting our most popular superheroes and villians.

The Goldbergs

Excitement Level: 4.5/5

This will either be a massive flop or a Modern Family sized hit.

Trophy Wife

Excitement Level: 2/5

I hope this surprises me. Something tells me it won’t.

Lucky 7

Excitement Level: 1/5

Nope. This show just looks terrible. Surprised the network even greenlit it.

Back in the Game

Excitement Level: 1/5

Nope.

Super Fun Night

Excitement Level: 5/5

REBEL WILSON ON THE SMALL SCREEN. THAT IS ALL THAT MATTERS AND ALL THAT WILL EVER MATTER.

OUAT-Wonderland-Title-Card.jpg

Once Upon A Time In Wonderland

Excitement Level: 5/5

I just wish they would change the name to simply “Wonderland.” Once Upon a Time in Wonderland seems a bit excessive.

Betrayal

Excitement Level: 2.5/5

The story looks plain stupid.  I predict cancellation.

NBC

NBC is usually at the same caliber as CBS with strange, odd pilots.

Welcome to the Family

Excitement Level: 2/5

Typical NBC sitcom.  We’ll see if it is up to par with the other NBC comedies.

Sean Saves the World

Excitement Level: 3/5

Just because it’s Sean Hayes, otherwise this would be the dumbest show ever.

The Michael J Fox Show

Excitement Level: 4/5

This looks super funny. I look forward to Michael’s return to television!

Dracula

Excitement Level: 5/5

This can be hit or miss, but gotta love a Dracula remake!

Crossbones

Excitement Level: 5/5

I CAN’T BELIEVE I NEED TO WAIT UNTIL MIDSEASON FOR THIS :(!

Fox

Impressed with the comedies, but not sure about the dramas.  I wish they picked up Delirium!

Almost Human

Excitement Level: 3/5

Not too sure about this one.  We’ll have to wait until midseason anyway!

Sleepy Hollow

Excitement Level: 4/5

The only reason it’s not a 5 is because it’s somewhat of a cop drama which just twists my nerves.

Seth MacFarlane's 'Dads': Giovanni Ribisi and Seth Green

Dads

Excitement Level: 1/5

Looks pretty lame to be honest.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine

Excitement Level: 4/5

Andy Samberg is one of my favorite people on the planet so I hope this doesn’t disappoint.
