Shows I have dropped so far this season and why?

Published November 14, 2012 by tiradical20s

666 Park Avenue (ABC)

While it had a promising outlook, the plot just made no sense and the characters/storylines were strange and somewhat offbeat from what they were trying to portray.  I would consider going back to rewatch the show over the summer if it gets picked up for a second season.  Sets were damaged during Hurricane Sandy, so who knows what is going to happen to this show? Ratings have also steadily declined and have not picked up.

Last Resort (ABC)

While I liked the first episode of this show, I decided that I would get bored quickly by it.  I have a hard time staying with shows of this nature and I figured I would quit while I was ahead.  Ratings have declined and ABC only ordered 2 additional scripts for it (giving it 13 episodes)….I would say I probably made the right decision.

Elementary (CBS)

This show has done surprisingly well in my opinion.  I found the first episode to be extremely difficult to watch and Lucy Liu as a modern day Watson was just too unbelievable to even try out.  The show has steady ratings and has received a full season order and EVEN a superbowl episode.  This show is not under consideration for me to pick up if it is renewed.

Made in Jersey (CBS)

Do I even really need to explain myself here?  First casualty of the 2012-2013 series.  Need I say more?

Vegas (CBS)

I was flat out bored the second I saw Dennis Quaid in a cowboy hat. The show is doing quite well with good ratings.  I will not consider watching this show again even if it is renewed.

Arrow (The CW)

I do enjoy this show, but for some reason it is very difficult for me to watch.  I would reconsider watching this show if it is picked up for a second season over the summer, but right now I don’t have time for it.

Beauty and the Beast (The CW)

I was shocked when I heard this show was given a full season.  It is borderline terrible.  I might consider watching it again, because I forget why I hated it so much (besides Kristin Kreuk playing an unbelievable cop) but for now I definitely don’t have time for amateur hour.

The Mob Doctor (Fox)

I gave this show a nice try, but I knew it was time to stop watching when I was falling asleep during the episodes.  I will not consider watching this show again over the summer if it is given a very unlikely second season.

Revolution (NBC)

I watched a lot of this show and recently decided nothing was happening in it.  I started falling asleep during the episodes and I knew it was time to move on.  I would consider watching this again over the summer if it is picked up.

Animal Practice (NBC)

My least favorite television pilot ever.  I did something I don’t usually do and didn’t even watch the entire pilot.

Revolution Season 1, Episode 5: Soul Train

Published October 20, 2012 by tiradical20s

Neville Confronts Charlie

TRAINS! The militia has a train and Danny is on it and Nora put a bomb on it and oh noooooooooo there it goes, off to Philadelphia with Charlie giving that same ridiculous Bambi look.

This show is good, but it is becoming a little bit repetitive where Charlie is like oh my god let’s stop and help someone even though I am very concerned about my brother and then when it gets down to it shes like “THERE’S NO TIME!!!”

It was cool to see Tom as a family man/kind soul before he was a relentless ass.

Also Nate is his son, Jason?! Holy crap!

Revolution Season 1, Episode 4: The Plague Dogs

I didn’t really think I had much of an emotional connection to this show before this episode, but turns out, I was very wrong!

The gang gets back together only to be torn apart by a stupid asshole guy and his crazy dogs.  The man stabs Maggie, and she bleeds to death!!!! SHE NEVER GOT TO SEE HER KIDS AGAIN :(!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DO YOU KNOW HOW UPSETTING THAT IS?!!?! When she asked for her phone, I sobbed uncontrollably.

At least they are getting closer to Danny each day, they are less than a day behind him now!

What I’m curious about is what did Miles want with Charlie and Danny’s mom??? Why did she go to him? That’s just so strange.  I look forward to finding out more about that whole exchange.

Revolution Season 1, Episode 2: Chained Heat

Published September 25, 2012 by tiradical20s

A solid follow up to the pilot, in my opinion.  I am not sure how on earth this show will continue once the power get”s back on and everything, but I am curious to see how it all comes together.

“Perfect hair for an apocalypse” Charlie sets out with Miles (much to his dismay) to find a woman named Nora who can help them find Danny, leaving Aaron and Maggie to fend for themselves until they can find each other in 2 weeks.

I wonder what was going on there at the end with Grace and the guy with the USB? Hmmmmm.

The ratings are KICK ASS on this show, so keep watching, guys!

Revolution Season 1, Episode 1: Pilot

First Impression:

This show looks cool and probably cost a lot of money to produce, but it can go either way depending on the acting choices and storyline.  Living without electricity would SUCK.

Last Impression:

Very good.  Despite a few minor detail flaws (UM Why does Charlie’s hair look so good during an electrical apocalypse? And why does the militia have ice *pointed out by my boyfriend, I never would have thought of that!*), the storyline seems to be solid and you definitely root for the characters.  I am confused by exactly what the militia wants…do they WANT electricity back or do they just want to keep their version of tyrannical order?  I am sure it will all be revealed as the season continued.  As far as renewal chances, it can go either way.  The cast and crew will have to work really hard to keep the viewership up.

Revolution premieres Monday, September 17th at 10 pm on NBC!  Tune in.
