Switched at Birth Season 1, Episode 30: Street Noises Invade The House

Published October 23, 2012 by tiradical20s

In the first season finale of Switched at Birth we see a lot of dramz going down between the Kennish-Vasquez clan.

Daphne and Jeff’s tumultuous relationship is exposed by the establishment and to her family.  Jeff freaks out and Daphne follows his lead and quits her job at the restaurant  thinking Jeff will want to be with her forever if she does that.  Jeff explains to Daphne that he just does not love her like she loves him.  SO sad…but #daphnedumped popping up on the screen was the funniest thing I have seen in a long ass time.  I also love how Angelo decided to be a father figure for like the first time ever to Daphne at that point.

The Kennish’s end up winning their lawsuit against the hospital….for 1 dollar.  Angelo wins his lawsuit as well….but wins 5 million dollars.  I think it was noble of Kathryn and John to accept that low amount of money and just take the pride of winning with them.  Makes them seem less awful.

Bay and Zarra decide to go to Mexico to meet up with Zarra’s dad in Bay’s latest “I’m so individual and grown up” scheme.  Bay starts to change her mind when she figures out Zarra is actually full of shit and has no idea what she is doing.  Emmett and John track her on her phone and they find her and Zarra sleeping in a car.  They take Bay home but Zarra sneaks off into the distance.

A possible Bay and Emmett reconciliation in the season 2 opener January 7th? Maybe.  A baby for Angelo? Maybe!

We’ll find out soon enough!

Switched at Birth Season 1, Episode 29: The Trial

Published October 18, 2012 by tiradical20s

The trial about the switch begins.

Stupid Bay gets the money back that she stole from her dad by lying to people at school about a Halloween dance she is raising money for, but the only one who bites is Simone who gives her all the money.  Bay and Travis seem to be in the clear until John realizes that the bills are no longer 100s but 20s.  This leads to John thinking that Travis is borrowing money from him, which is what Travis is afraid of.  Daphne, knowing this information from John, tells Bay that she will tell John if she doesn’t because Travis doesn’t deserve to get fired.  Bay admits her actions to her mother and Bay gets in a lot of trouble.

Daphne and Jeff continue their secret courtship and Melody realizes what is going on after stopping at Jeff’s house while Daphne is there.  Melody tries to talk to Daphne about it, but Daphne thinks she is just jealous and ignores her.  It is revealed that Daphne is not a virgin and Jeff tries to end it with her because it is illegal and Melody knows.  Too bad the episode ends with Daphne at Jeff’s house and the door closing dramatically…..can we say statutory rape?

Do you think Daphe and Jeff slept together? Wooooo boy.

Switched at Birth Season 1, Episode 28: We are the Kraken of our own Sinking Ships

Published October 10, 2012 by tiradical20s

The first thing I would like to comment on is the title of this episode….like, are you for real right now??? Why is this episode entitled that?! Ridiculous.

Dear Kenishes,

Let’s not invite people’s ex boyfriends over.  That’s awkward.

Dear Weird Church Girl,

Why were you flirting with Toby so much is you HAD A BOYFRIEND YOU DUMB RELIGIOUS SLUT?!

When someone asks you to bail them out of jail for 1500 dollars…..ASK MORE QUESTIONS. Don’t just do it!

Sheesh, some people on this show need to get bitch slapped right in the head.

Also, I feel bad that Scuba was fired, but he really did do the wrong thing by asking Daphne to take the blame for him…he should have realized that was going to happen.

And is Regina in love with Angelo? My sources say: a little bit.

2 more weeks until the finale!

Switched at Birth Season 1, Episode 27: The Declaration of Independence

Zarra & Bay Search For a Vandal

Btw, I am real tired of Daphne’s “I’m a rebellious teenager waaaah” shit.  That little monologue she had in front of Kathryn how she is not going to stop doing street art was so stupid…..wow, Bay, you are SO rebellious!!! CONGRATS

The stuff with Travis was so sad :(.  Travis is such a sweet boy and he is all alone without parents that sign :(.  Daphne stood him up to go illegally suck face with Chef in the kitchen! I am glad John took him out to the batting cages.

Also, good job, Toby for taking out the jesus loving girl!

Notable line:

“The flyer says my heart belongs to Jesus but the handwriting says everything else is negotiable!”

Switched at Birth Season 1, Episode 26: The Tree of Forgiveness

Published September 25, 2012 by tiradical20s

In this episode of Switched at Birth, we see Bay arguing with her father about her artwork on his carwash.  Okay, let’s be honest…if someone, regardless of whether or not they were related to me, decided to tag my place of work with her “art,” I would be pretty pissed too.  John and I agree on something for once, sheesh!

We also see Daphne struggling to be in the same place as Angelo.  That nail in the hand looked pretty convincing! Good to see that Gilles Marini has a day job after Dancing with the Stars :)>.

I really like the new girl that Emmett met! And I am also happy that Toby is forming a friendship with Nikki! Good for them, they need to move on anyway.

UM can someone please explain to me how Simone is an 11th grade alcoholic? Yes, please do.  That is a really ridiculous storyline.

Looking forward to next week.

Switched at Birth Season 1, Episode 25: The Shock of Being Seen

Published September 18, 2012 by tiradical20s

In this episode, we see Daphne shamelessly throwing herself at her boss who turns out to be stooping Emmett’s mom and Bay taking advantage of Angelo’s new paternal status in her life to go out and do dangerous art things on her other dad’s car wash.

I felt bad for Daphne who felt the need to slut herself up and dumb herself down to get Jeff’s attention.  Jeff is a very handsome man, but do we forget how he treated Daphne in the beginning?  It was despicable! And now he’s totally made a hypocrite of himself by sleeping with Emmett’s mom.  Ridiculous.

I also think it is super stupid how Kathryn got all jealous about Regina getting asked questions at her book interview.  Umm, hi, she was also part of the story and just because it is your book doesn’t mean YOU get to be asked all the questions.  Relax, bitch.

Looking forward to next week and still eternally grateful that Wilkie is nowhere to be seen!

Switched at Birth Season 1, Episode 24: The Intruder

Published September 11, 2012 by tiradical20s

This episode of Switched at Birth chronicles everyone’s different reactions to Regina’s shotgun wedding to Angelo for a green card.

  • Bay = Ecstatic
  • Daphne = Forgiving….then moody
  • Toby = Bleh
  • Kathryn = Frantic
  • John = SOMEONE IS BREAKING MY BASEBALL RECORD….oh, and I don’t like people who lie to the government
  • Grandma = You’s done bad.

I think one of the characters should get pregnant on this show to bring the whole “full house” aspect into a fuller swing.  I think that character should be Bay with Emmett’s baby.  Then Emmett AND the new baby would have to move in and hilarity would ensue.

Btw does anyone else wonder why the whole Daphne/Emmett kiss was ignored? They made a big deal about him cheating on Bay with Simone, but technically, he kissed Daphne too….maybe we are waiting for that to come about? I bet that would piss Bay off even more.

Also, Bay’s artwork for the win.  What? It’s pretty.

Switched at Birth Season 1, Episode 23: The Color Of My Dreams

Published September 4, 2012 by tiradical20s

And finally, our favorite ASL family friendly show is back!

A LOT happened in last nights episode, so let’s touch on a few things.

Let’s talk about Bay.  Obviously, this new boyfriend of hers was a rebound from Emmett, but does anyone else think Bay is sort of a serial dater?  She hasn’t been single since the start of the show! Maybe Bay needs to take some time to herself to be SINGLE and not date 1000 guys and just be her own whimsical, artistic self for a little while.  I think that’s where the show is going anyway after her fight with Emmett in last night’s episode.

As for Regina marrying Angelo….wtf?! She is totally happy with that other guy! I am sure you people are going to say, “But she was so selfless to marry him so Bay could keep him in her life!’  BUT I DISAGREE!!!!!! She was so happy with the other guy (whose name escapes me, sorry) and they were planning to be together even though the relationship was new.  I am so heartbroken for that other guy.  STUPID ITALY TRYING TO TAKE AWAY SEXY ANGELO.

As for Daphne, the storyline about her and her boss really made me upset.  The way he treated her because of her disability was sickening.  If I ever saw someone treating a deaf person like that, I would be infuriated.

All in all, the episode was very good and well worth the wait.  I am happy that stupid Wilkie is gone because I really can’t stand Austin Butler for some reason.  He’s been in more pilots than Joanna Garcia.  I think Joanna Garcia and Austin Butler are blacklisted in Hollywood television pilots. HA.

Fall premiere of Switched at Birth promo!

Hmmm, Bay certainly moves fast for the second time on the show! Emmett did cheat on her, but I can’t help but love that little guy haha.  What do we think? I think it’s time for Daphne to have a legitimate love interest.

Someone other than Wilke (don’t even get me started on Wilke).

September 3rd!

Jane By Design cancelled!

Published August 18, 2012 by tiradical20s

Awww, what’s the matter Jane? Sad about your cancellation? You are the ONLY one.

YES, thank you, ABC Family.  This was probably one of the worst shows on television during the 2011-2012 season.

I was very shocked to hear it received the back 10 in the spring.

Upon receiving news that Melissa & Joey, Baby Daddy and Switched at Birth were all renewed for 3rd and 2nd seasons respectively, it was announced yesterday that Jane Quimby would no longer grace our television screens with her unruly hair, classmates that appear to be in their 30s and borderline boring person.

Oh well, Jane. Oh well.

Also,  Bunheads received the back 10, but….I have no hope for it.  That show is just as bad as Jane By Design was.
